“I could not stop myself from reading the next chapter. The storyline kept me captivated as the current and past lifetimes unfolded giving you a stronger understanding of the five main characters. Jemaja was quite indepth with these characters and made me feel like I knew them so well and was very invested in their lives. She also has an understanding of grief that rings true and any young person reading this story would have to be taken to a place of belonging as grief can often feel isolated. I commend her for this. I feel this book is equally appropriate for adult readers and not just young adult. I can see myself reading it again and look forward to seeing what comes next from this author.”

Its main theme, grief and loss and how it affects people differently, was handled in a captivating way. The story takes readers on a journey with Jules and her friends as they each navigate their loss and grief in their own way. I feel this book is a great read for both young adult and adult readers.
I shed tears at certain points. I found the way Jemaja moved from present life back into past lifetimes and adventures together to be a clever tool. It took readers on a magical journey out of the grief, while showing readers the strength of each character and their friendship.
I applaud Jemaja’s skill as a storyteller and the smooth way she takes the reader from moments of tense grief and anger into past lifetimes. These steps back in time give the reader time to process what they have just read.
